Video: I am still NPP- Ken Agyapong dispels resignation rumours

Member of Parliament for Assin Central Constituency, Hon. Kennedy Ohene Agyapong has dismissed rumours of his possible resignation from the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

In an engagement with some party faithfuls of the NPP in Minnesota, USA, Hon. Agyapong charged the gathering to remain committed to the course of the party to advance its chances at winning the 2024 elections.

He disclosed that, purported statements flying around of his resignation from the NPP on December 4, 2023 should be treated with disdain as he still continues to remain a resolute active member.

“You shouldn’t give up because you were supporting Kennedy Agyapong and he lost, no!Maybe this is a preparation.
I probably trusted people too much so now I’m learning.

I thought I was perfect but with this elections I know I’m not so I’m learning a lot. Nobody should be worried about whatever happened.

“If you are an NPP, I’m still NPP. We will continue to fight. We are not going to give up. I will sit in there and make the changes. I will be in there and make the changes.

You should be rest assured, there are speculations that December 4, Kennedy Agyapong is going to make a press conference.

I will be here (Minnesota, USA) on December 4, so these kind of speculations I’m not in for that. NPP people should be rest assured that Kennedy Agyapong is still an NPP.

I will continue to be NPP but Ghana first. If you are NPP and you make a mistake I will tell you.” Hon. Kennedy Agyapong said to a rousing applauds from the gathering at his Minnesota- USA, edition of ‘Showdown Thanksgiving Party’ on December 2, 2023.

Background

Hon. Kennedy Agyapong who sought to lead the NPP as its flagbearer lost in the party’s presidential primaries to Vice President, Mahamadu Bawumia.

He emerged 2nd out of the four aspirants that contested for the party’s presidential candidate slot.

The certified results, announced by a Deputy Commissioner of the Electoral Commission, Siriboe Quaicoe, revealed that the Vice President, Dr Bawumia garnered 118,210 votes, representing 61.43%, while Hon. Agyapong, the closest contender, secured 71,996 votes, representing 37.41%.
