
The Communication Director of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Ashanti region, Abass Nurudeen has maintained his position in the party’s closely contested Ashanti regional executives elections, Purefmonline.com reports.
The contest for Ashanti Regional Communication Director position of the party was one that generated several controversies ahead of the elections today.
The incumbent Director, Abass Nurudeen was challenged by his deputy, Alex Kwaku Asafo Adjei who many pollsters had tipped to be the potential winner.
However, reports gathered by Purefmonline.com reveal that Alex Kwaku Asafo Adjei has been flawed by his Boss Abass Nurudeen, in the closely contested election.
Results gathered so far also disclose that Yaw Isham Alhassan has been re-elected as the Ashanti regional Organizer of the party. Dr. Frank Amoakohene, Secretary elect, Captain John Kwame Jabari (Rtd), Vice Chairman elect, Osman Abudullah Nabali, Youth Organizer elect.
At the time of filing this report, the incumbent Chairman of the party in the region, Nana Kwasi had been tipped to be maintained as he had garnered 534 votes ahead of his closest contender, Lawyer Evans Amankwaah who had recorded 428 votes in the 4 out of 5 zones counted so far.
