Ghana-Nigeria: GFA adds Jordan Ayew in an updated squad list

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has officially communicated the Blackstars players call-up list as the senior national team face Nigeria on Friday, March 25, 2022, in the World Cup qualifying match, Purefmonline.com reports.

Brother of Ghana’s Skipper, André Ayew, Jordan Ayew has been added to the updated list amidst speculations that André expressed his dissatisfaction at the news of his brother not being part of the earlier list of the Coach, Otto Addo.

Jordan Ayew is said to have texted positive for Covid-19.

On the other hand, André Ayew has not been named in the new updated list due to a suspension.

Players like Felix Afena Gyan (AS Roma-Italy), Dennis Oddo (FC Brugge-Belgium), Dennis Korsah (Hearts of Oak-Ghana), Elisha Owusu (KAA Gent- Belgium) are the new entrants to the senior national team.

The Back Stars will take on the Super Eagles in two matches scheduled for Kumasi and Abuja respectively as the search for a ticket to November’s FIFA World Cup in Qatar heats up.

Ghana will host the 1st leg at the Baba Yara Sports stadium on Friday, March 25 before travelling to Abuja for the 2nd leg on Tuesday, March 29, 2022.
