“NPP is Campaigning, NDC is Complaining”- Atta Boafo

In a recent interview on Pure 95.7 FM, Ghana’s Consul General in New York, H.E. Daniel Kingsley Atta Boafo, summed up the current political scene with a catchy phrase: “NPP is campaigning, NDC is complaining.” This statement has quickly gained attention, as it highlights a familiar pattern in Ghana’s politics. While the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) is mostly organizing rallies and promoting their message, the opposition, the National Democratic Congress (NDC), is focused on reviewing and pinpointing out issues.

H.E Atta Boafo’s comment sheds light on the role each party plays. While the NPP is out there seriously campaigning to win more citizens to their side and showcasing what they have done so far, the NDC criticizes the government to bring it to account. Both approaches have value; the NPP pushes forward with its plans, while the NDC keeps a check on their actions.
