Ghana Under-20 Team’s Training Tour Raises Concerns Over Communication
In an interview with Pure FM 95.7 MHz, Mr. Kudjoe Fianoo, Chairman of the Ghana League Clubs Association, revealed a troubling oversight regarding the Ghana Under-20 Men’s national team, the Black Satellites. Fianoo disclosed that the Chief Director of the Ministry of Youth and Sports was unaware of the team’s training tour in Germany and Switzerland, which took place as preparation for the ongoing WAFU Zone B tournament in Togo.
He emphasized that the tour commenced without proper notification to the ministry.
Mr. Kudjoe Fianoo stated, “The Chief Director of the Ministry of Youth and Sports told me he was unaware of the recent Ghana Under-20 Men’s team tour in Germany and Switzerland. My investigation revealed that the team left before they drew the attention of the sports minister. This shows that the Ghana Football Association did not inform the Sports Ministry about this important training tour.”
Ghana U20 in the tour lost 5-0 to Germany.
The team in the ongoing WAFU ZONE B Championship advanced to the Semi Finals after a 1-1 draw with the host, Togo on Wednesday.
