Mahama has never filed a presidential form – Kofi Akpaloo
Kofi Akpaloo, the presidential candidate for the Liberal Party of Ghana, has made some claims about former President John Mahama. Akpaloo says Mahama has never personally filed out a presidential nomination form, instead relies on his party executives to do so. This statement was made during a phone-in interview on Pure Morning Drive.
Akpaloo also criticized Mahama for suggesting that Bernard Mornah, who was disqualified by the Electoral Commission, is more qualified than some presidential candidates on the ballot. Akpaloo believes Mornah isn’t superior to other candidates, including Akua Donkor, and that everyone deserves a chance.
In Akpaloo’s opinion, those who feel unfairly disqualified should take legal action. He also emphasized that the Electoral Commission must operate within the constitution and ensure the accuracy of information provided on the forms. Interestingly, Akpaloo shared his personal experience of being disqualified by the EC in 2016, highlighting the importance of meeting the EC’s requirements, regardless of a party’s age or reputation.
