NDC’s Disorganisation Exposed- Alhaji Ishaq

Alhaji Ishaq Kyei Brobbey, a lecturer and finance management expert has criticized the National Democratic Congress (NDC) for its disorganized approach to policy-making, particularly regarding its free tertiary education policy. During a discussion on Pure FM, Alhaji Ishaq pointed out contradictions and inconsistencies in the NDC’s Youth Manifesto launch, where the party promised free academic fees for universities at the beginning of the school year.

However, subsequent explanations by NDC communicators have raised more questions than answers. Alhaji Ishaq noted that the policy’s scope and funding mechanisms are unclear, and the exclusion of technical universities and private tertiary institutions is puzzling.

He argued that if the NDC aims to provide free tertiary education, it should include all public universities, technical universities, nursing and midwifery schools, colleges of education, public health schools, and agriculture colleges. Alhaji Ishaq questioned the NDC’s consistency, given their previous criticism of the free SHS policy for not targeting only those who cannot afford it.

Furthermore, he sought clarification on how the NDC plans to fund this policy and whether the necessary infrastructure exists to accommodate the increased student numbers. Alhaji Ishaq emphasized the need for precision and clarity when presenting policies to the electorate.
