The 63-year-old, who led Ghana to the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil, is soon to return to the North African country after a spell with Al Khartoum between 2014-2017.
The Sudanese Football Association (Sudan FA) is currently engaging in advanced discussions with the former Ghanaian coach who is currently a member of the Asante Kotoko Interim Management Committee (IMC), Kwesi Appiah to potentially appoint him as their new head coach.
They expect Appiah to lead them back to the Africa Cup of Nations after failing to qualify for the next edition in Ivory Coast.
Exclusively, James Kwesi Appiah after receiving the offer is considering taking the mantle. Hence, he is waiting for Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, Asante Kotoko Life Patron who appointed him to be a member of the Kotoko’s Interim Management Committee. Otumfuo is outside the country and set to meet him when he returns.
His appointment as Sudan Coach means, his job with the Porcupine Warriors will come to an end as well as his ambition to become an executive member (EXCO) of the Ghana Football Association.
