Ghanaian-based Business Mogul, Benard Antwi Bosiako popularly known as Chairman Wontumi has revealed his intention to purchase Portugees’ super star, Cristiano Ronaldo to the Ghanaian Premiere League, Purefmonline.com reports.
In a confirmation message to Kwame Adinkrah, host of Kumasi-based Pure FM’s ‘Pure Morning Drive’ program, Andy Owusu, aide to Chairman Wontumi stated that they have already drafted their proposal letter for the purchase of Ronaldo to Kumasi Asante Kotoko Supporting Club and they plan on submitting their bid latest by November 25, 2022.
The 45-year-old Ghanaian politician and businessman was recently in the news for submitting a failed $3.1bn (£2.4m) bid to buy English Premier League club, Chelsea.
The Portugal forward, 37, Cristiano Ronaldo, has been axed by Manchester United with his contract terminated.
The news was announced at 5.30pm on Tuesday, November 22, 2022 as United released a blunt 67-word statement for the club icon.
The Old Trafford club – who will NOT give their iconic No7 a pay-off to save themselves £11.5million – said: “Cristiano Ronaldo is to leave Manchester United by mutual agreement, with immediate effect.”
“The club thanks him for his immense contribution across two spells at Old Trafford, scoring 145 goals in 346 appearances, and wishes him and his family well for the future.”
