President Akufo-Addo has nominated the Member of Parliament for Kwabre East constituency in the Ashanti region, Hon. Francisca Oteng-Mensah as the Deputy Minister designate for the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection, Purefmonline.com reports.
The President acted in accordance to the provisions in Article 79 of the 1992 constitution in nominating the Kwabre East MP.
Hon. Francisca Oteng-Mensah comes in as the youngest Minister Ghana has ever had at the age of 29 years should Parliament approve of her nomination in accordance with the provisions under Article 78 (1) of the 1992 constitution.
In a letter communicating the appointment, the President noted that the Member of Parliament of the Walewale constituency and former deputy Minister of the Ministry, Hon. Lariba Zuweira Abudu has been elevated and appointed as the Minister designate for the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection.

Sarah Adwoa Safo, MP for Dome Kwabenya was last week sacked from her role by President Nana Akufo-Addo as the Minister for Gender, Children and Social Protection.
The decision by the President came at a time when Parliament is debating her continuous stay in the house after absenting herself for more than 15 sitting days without approval from the Speaker of Parliament.
