Gov’t took the best decision under the circumstance to go to IMF – Oppong Nkrumah

Information Minister, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah has said the Government of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo took the best decision to go to the International Monetary Fund (IMF) for support given the circumstances the nation finds itself.

He stated that the President has acted prudently to get the country out of the economic challenges.

Speaking in a media interview on Wednesday July 6, the Ofoase Ayirebi lawmaker said “I think any president who is interested in ensuring that the Ship of State continues to sail so that we can get out of the impact that the global challenges are putting on us will decide like what President Akufo-Addo has made”.

Government is in talks with the International Monetary Fund for a financial bailout after the country has been engaged in a debt distress.
