Stay at home – CLOGSAG to its members as it begins strike tomorrow

The Civil and Local Government Staff Association, Ghana (CLOGSAG) is on strike beginning Thursday, April 21 over the government’s failure to pay its members their neutrality allowance.

A memo signed by the Regional Secretary and sighted by Purefmonline.com reads:

“You are being informed that after a NEC meeting held today 20th of April, 2022, all CLOGSAG members are to stay at home from Thursday 21st of April 2022 until further notice.”

The Association in an earlier statement said the neutrality allowance formed part of a Memorandum of Understanding entered into with the government on January 20, 2022.

According to CLOSAG, despite official reminders and follow ups to the Finance Ministry, payment of the allowance has not been effected after more than three months as agreed.
