Ghana v Nigeria: ‘Asanteman’ to restore the love for the Blackstars- Anim Addo

Ghana Football Association’s (GFA) Executive Council member, Sammy Anim Addo has expressed the Association’s excitement of Ghana hosting Nigeria in the first leg of the World Cup qualifying tie at the Kumasi ‘Baba Yara Sports Stadium’ in the Ashanti region, Purefmonline.com reports.

Speaking on Accra-based ‘CiTi Tv’ with Fentuo Tahiru Fentuo, monitored by Purefmonline.com, Mr. Anim Addo stated that the GFA is confident the love for the senior national team and local football will be restored with the game being played in the Ashanti region.

In indicating the preparedness of the FA and the playing body, the ExCo. member remarked that members of the Association are convinced ‘Asanteman’ (to wit Ashanti region’s residents) will carry the game and troop in their numbers to support the Blackstars.

“The players are poised up and we at the FA are excited the game is being played at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium. We know Asanteman will carry this game . The love for Ghana football and the Blackstars will start from this game. We are happy that we are playing the match in the Ashanti region.” He told host of the station’s ‘Made in Ghana’ sports progam.

Ghana will play Nigeria in the 1st leg of the World Cup qualifiers on Friday, March 25, 2022, at 19:30GMT at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi.

The 2nd leg of the qualifying game will be played on March 29, 2022 in Nigeria.
