Reduce gate fee for Ghana-Nigeria game to GH¢15- Jack Alolome pleads

Ahead of the Ghana-Nigeria World Cup qualifying game scheduled to take place at the Kumasi ‘Baba Yara Sports’ Stadium on Friday, March 25, 2022, many Ghanaians have raised concerns over the proposed GH¢50 and GH¢100 tickets fee, Purefmonline.com reports.

The latest to add his voice to the calls for the price reduction is musician, Jack Alolome.

Speaking on ‘Pure Sports’ with host, Bright Kankam Boadu (BKB) on March 18, the gospel musician noted that with the compounding economic challenges in the country and the obvious lack of interest in the activities of the senior national team, ‘Blackstars’, it will not be prudent to raise the ticket prices in this crucial encounter game.

He appealed to the Ghana Football Association (GFA) to sell the tickets for the game at GH¢15 for popular stands and GH¢20 or GH¢30 for VIP.

“We need people to troop in their numbers to support the Blackstars. We are all preaching the ‘bring back the love’ mantra. I think this is a good opportunity to advance that agenda and we should not scare Ghanaians off with high ticket prices.

This is not the only game that will earn money for the GFA. They should reduce the tickets to GH¢15 for the popular stands and sell the VIP tickets for GH¢20 or GH¢30.

We need the numbers in the stadium and we must do our best to encourage the people to come.” Jack Alolome who is on a campaign to encourage Ghanaians to visit the Kumasi Sports Stadium to watch the qualifying tie stated as part of his submission on Kumasi-based Pure FM’s ‘Pure Sports.’

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) is yet to release the official ticketing price for the Ghana v Nigeria World Cup qualifying game although speculations are ripped that they are considering to peg the price at GH¢50 for the popular stance patronage and GH¢100 for the VIP section of the stadium.

Scores that bought their tickets via a piloted short code yesterday revealed to ‘Pure Sports’ that the prices stood at GH¢50 and GH¢100.
