A Board Member of the Graphic Communication Group, Alhaji Ishaq Kyei Brobbey has asserted that history will not favor Speaker, Alban Bagbin betting that he will go down as the ‘worst’ to preside in the August House, Purefmonline.com reports.
He says the conduct of the Speaker is despicable and unbecoming of a leader occupying that high office of the land.
Mr. Kyei Brobbey made the pronouncement on ‘Pure Morning Drive’ in an interview with Kwame Adinkrah when he appeared as guest panel member.
“Kwame, this Speaker has failed to exhibit leadership in this time of crisis where there is almost a split majority.
His utterances are nauseating, despicable and abashing to say the least. How can you have a whole Speaker of Parliament calling the President myopic and sometimes using words like shut up on his own colleagues.
His conduct is very unbecoming and degrading of the venerable position he holds. He will go down as the worst Speaker of Parliament we have ever had if he doesn’t change his conducts.” Mr. Ishaq said on Kumasi-based Pure FM.
The Speaker of Parliament, Alban S.K. Bagbin in a recent reaction to comments made by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo on the Supreme Court verdict of giving the green light to the Deputy Speakers to also vote while presiding said the remarks were “myopic and unfortunate”.
According to him, the President’s comments only worsen the schism between the Executive and Parliament.
