The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of Suame in the Ashanti region, Hon. Maxwell Ofosu Boakye has shared in the plight of residents over the poor road infrastructure in the area, Purefmonline.com reports.
Expressing his concern on Kumasi-based Abusua FM with host, Kojo Marfo, monitored by Purefmonline.com, the Suame MCE remarked that people in his township have the right to hurl insults at him especially taking into consideration the extent of damage the roads have become.
“I feel ashamed anytime I use the road network within the Municipality. There is no justification for any leader to proffer a reason for the bad roads. I accept the blame. Kojo, like I hear on radio, the insults hurled at me are justified.”
“But glory be to God, the contract for construction works to begin on the road has been awarded. They were actually suppose to start yesterday (Wednesday, March, 16 2022) . I am confident that in the next few days, we will all see the road being fixed. We want to do a quality job so I will plead with residents to bear with us when the construction works pose some level of challenges to them.” He revealed to Kojo Marfo on ‘Abusua Nkomo.’
