(Audio): Construction of Suame Interchange to start in October- MCE reveals

Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of Suame, Hon. Maxwell Ofosu Boakye has disclosed that construction works on the proposed four-tier Suame Interchange in the Ashanti region will begin in October of this year (2022) barring any unforeseen challenge, Purefmonline.com reports.

The MCE in asserting the Government’s commitment to the project stated on Kumasi-based Abusua FM, monitored by Purefmonline.com, that plans have been advanced to commence the project as grounds works have already been initiated.

“On the interchange, per the conversation I have held with them (Urban roads), I am convinced that construction work will start in October this year.

You know they have a lot of work to do specifically at the Suame roundabout like securing the asserts of the water company.

The earlier communique was to possess the land and clear the encroachers by the middle of this month but that has not been realized yet. I am waiting for the green light from the Urban roads to start that exercise too. Let me however put forth that, I cannot guarantee the standing of the ongoing mall project close to the Suame roundabout when the scheduled interchange construction starts.”

I have seen the drawings and I know construction works will start this year.” He told host, Kojo Marfo.

The yet-to-be-constructed Suame interchange will be the second four-tier interchange project in the country.
