A/R: Wontumi behind polling station elections violence – Akwasi Nti

Former Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in Fomena in the Ashanti Region, AKwasi Nti Asamoah has accused the incumbent regional chairman of the party Mr. Benard Antwi Bosiako, known as Wontumi of being behind pockets of violence in the ongoing polling station elections.

Akwasi Nti tells Kwame Adinkrah, host of Pure Morning Drive on wednesday that Wontumi has given the polling station forms to his sympathetisers to aid his re-election.

“Chairman Wontumi has given the polling station forms to supporters of his favourite Members of Parliament(MPs). He is scheming to impose candidates on delegates just as he did in the previous elections which caused the party a great deal. This is what is causing the violence in most of the constituencies.”

The former Fomena chairman said, Womtumi has caged all the party leaders in the Ashanti region stiring anger in them.

“When I talk about wontumi people think I hate him. I don’t. That man is a crook, selfish and behind loads of unwarranted activities happening in this elections. The earlier he’s called out the better.”

According to him, they will not allow Wontumi to destroy the party in Formena.

He further disclosed that Wontumi was aware of the independent candidate prior to the 2020 elections.

“Bernard Antwi Bosiako has reported to the police to arrest the youth who were demonstrating and repainted part office to NDC colors, but if they dare to arrest them, the issues will escalate.”  Mr. Kwasi Nti revealed while calling on party leadership to intervane.
