Fomena: Disappointed NPP members paint party office with NDC colours, say they’ve defected

Some angry supporters of the New Patriotic Party(NPP) in the Fomena Constituency of the Ashanti Region have a Monday morning demonstrated against the party’s leadership and have threatened to defect to the opposition NDC over what they term as I’ll treatment from the camp of the Independent MP for the constituency, Mr Andrew Amoako Asiamah.

These supporters claim they will not be voting for the NPP in the 2024 General elections.

They claim John Mahama has built for the constituency a modern hospital, a good reason to vote for him.

On some placards the demonstrating group blamed the general secretary of the party, John Boadu for imposing Member of Parliament, Asiamah Amoako on them.

The supporters are seen painting the party office with NDC colours and pasting posters of former Viral president John Mahama on the building.

The protestors have vowed to resist attempts by the Independent Member of Parliament for the area, Andrew Amoako Asiamah, to be imposed on them in the next general elections.

“We won’t allow the leadership of the party to repeat what happened in 2020. That won’t happen here in Fomena. We must be given equal opportunity to elect leaders of our choice, Steven Annor, a protestor told mypurefmonline.com.
